The Williamsburg BioProcessing Foundation (WilBio) was established in 1994 to provide highly focused conferences for the exchange of bioprocess technology. Originally held in Williamsburg, VA, the location and content of the first meeting provided the name that was subsequently adopted for the organization. Whereas other conferences are known to adequately cover the scientific, regulatory, and clinical issues associated with biotechnology, WilBio's conferences are expressly designed to provide a thorough coverage of process development and production issues while focusing on narrowly defined applications.
