$1.6 MILLION AWARDED TO INTERCITY BUS SERVICES

The Iowa Department of Transportation issued the following news release:

The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved the use of nearly $1.6 million in federal funding to maintain the viability of Iowa's intercity bus service.

A total of $1,573,253 is appropriated for the multi-faceted program helping to preserve existing intercity bus routes tying smaller communities in Iowa to the nationwide intercity bus system, and assisting start-up routes in serving rural communities that do not have services.
