More than half of Portland General Electric's (PGE) residential customers have air conditioning (AC) to help them seek solace from summer heat. While AC units keep homes cool, they use additional electricity, increasing energy bills. Fortunately, there are many ways to reduce the cost of keeping cool as temperatures rise or staying cool without the aid of an air conditioner.
